Immigrant families need our help. That’s why the Relief Fund NPO was created. For immigrants, by immigrants.

Access To Legal Services For Immigrants

There are few greater challenges in this world than to leave the place of your birth, uproot your family, and cross a border at great personal and physical cost. This process takes a toll—but for many, it’s a cost that is worth it in order to seek the better life and prosperity that America can provide.

Unfortunately, upon arrival, many immigrant families struggle with legal woes. These issues can be exceedingly costly, as legal fees add up quickly. For a family that has already given up everything to immigrate, these fees are an insurmountable barrier to justice and relief.

What We Offer

Our main focus is providing access to high quality pro bono and low-cost legal services to those in desperate need of assistance—victims of abuse, trafficking, and other crime— in order to assist with the naturalization process.

  • Housing Assistance

Our comprehensive Housing Assistance Program at Relief Fund extends a compassionate hand to immigrants and victims of crime, recognizing the unique challenges they face in establishing a secure and nurturing home.

  • Unaccompanied Minor Defense

The most vulnerable of all immigrants are those who are young children and minors. They need our help, and we’re dedicated to their well-being and legal care.

  • Deportation Defense

When you’ve sacrificed everything to make it out of one country, and into another, there’s often no turning back. When faced with deportation, it can feel as though your world is crumbling. We can help.

  • Representing Survivors Of Violence

Our hearts go out to all survivors of violence, whether domestic or otherwise. Survivors are in desperate need of legal help, and Relief Fund is dedicated to providing the legal services they need.

  • Fighting for Families

Families should not be divided by borders and legal status. We strongly believe in doing everything in our power to keep families together.

  • Appellate Litigation

Relief Fund strategically litigates appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. This program primarily focuses on carving out good law for asylum seekers who have claims of gender-based violence and domestic violence.

  • Green Cards

Relief Fund assists clients in obtaining a Green Card, allowing them to work and live in the United States. This is the dream for many immigrants, and we take pride in being to assist in any way we can.

  • Trauma Evaluation

We offer access to psychological care for immigrants that have suffered through untold traumas. For some, this may be their first chance to express their feelings.

  • Educational Programs

We develop educational programs and tools to help immigrants adapt to their new lives. From how to build credit, applying for mortgages, applying for college loans, grants, and scholarships—our programs give the invaluable information immigrants need to further improve their lives.

Donate Today

Relief Fund remains committed to ensuring that immigrants in New York State have access to high-quality low-cost and pro bono legal services.

With your support we can continue to:

  • Serve the growing numbers of young people applying for DACA status now that the Supreme Court has cleared the way
  • Ensure access to immigration legal services for immigrants in rural communities, where the need is high but legal services are scarce

We invite you to join our work in building strong, inclusive and equitable communities. You can give the gift of hope by making your tax-deductible donation today!

Some of the most vulnerable immigrants seek out help at Relief Fund because they do not know where else to turn to. They depend on us to help from start to finish. And that’s what we do – we do not refer cases; we finish the hardest cases from the start.

We rely on your contributions to provide free and low-cost representation in court. Your donations go directly to supporting our programs.

By donating to our cause, you directly help to provide vital legal services to minors, survivors of violence, and refugees. Your donation is crucial to the immigrant community. Without donations from people like you, we would be unable to help as many people in need as we do. We appreciate your support!

Relief Fund is a 501(c)(3) Charity. Your gift is tax deductible.

Oleg Prizant Founder

A first generation immigrant from the former USSR, Oleg Prizant came to the US as a refugee himself. He understands first hand the deep struggles that come with displacement. A welcoming country is a god send for a refugee in danger, however immigrating poses its own unique challenges.

Recent spikes in intolerance and injustice towards immigrants is a major cause for concern. That’s why Oleg created the relief fund. Having received an MBA from Columbia University, with over 20 years as a Financial Services Executive—Oleg felt the need to give of himself to those with whom he feels a deep connection.
